Research and evidence are at the core of our work. Through our educational training programmes, our influencing, consultancy or policy making… research underpins all that we do.

In collaboration with the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research at City, University of London, Midwifery Unit Network has been active in influential research since its creation. This includes: NICE Birthplace Action Study, Midwifery Unit Support for Excellence Pathway (MUSE)-Pathway and NICE/NHS decision aids.
